Reflection

Standing at the edge of an ocean

that stretches as far as the eye can see

knowing creation, in its overwhelming beauty, 

is not like it was meant to be.

Our eyes can't see past the hurt, 

our vision blurred by our mistakes.

We see the flaws, the blemishes, the imperfection

we feel the insecurities and pain.

But the Creator, through cracks and brokenness and tears,

through hurt and loss and all our fears, 

sees what He created and loves it just the same.

The reflection may seem different 

with scars of hard-fought war,

but the Creator sees, through every broken piece, 

something that was still worth dying for.

You are the center of His focus, the object of His love.

When life feels rough and you lose your way, 

shift your eyes above.

He will never leave you standing on your own.

Your reflection may feel lacking, your weakness showing through,

But He holds the fragments of every shattered heart

He sees the beauty in every cracked or broken piece.  

Not only will He heal, comfort, and restore

but He will use those shattered pieces to shine where it couldn't before

Our life becomes a beautiful, broken reflection

His light shining from every single shard...

now meant to scatter in every direction. 

**So, "clothe yourself with the presence of the Lord," "go into all the world," and "let [His] light shine before men." Invite the Creator to take your broken pieces and use them in your life to reflect His glory. Allow Him to make beauty from the ashes in your life.
